Related to that code, All-Data says it should take a whopping 0.1 hours to change out the transmission control module, AW50-42, but they say nothing about how much this part costs or where it is.

I wouldn't hesitate to try re-seating the module and/or just clearing the code, before replacing the control module. That sucker's got to be expensive.
