I was getting the coolant warning light repeatedly over the past week. Coolant level was always high, so I'd drain some out and the light would clear, only to come back again in a few days, having to repeat the process several times. It turns out the warning light was due to the sensor being pulled out of the housing by the dealer when they did the 105K timing belt service.
The "making coolant" mystery turns out to be that while I was draining the excess hot fluid out of the expansion tank, my concientious wife was adding coolant while it was cool because it wasn't "max-ed" out. Hehehe.
I was thinking of bottling it and making a fortune!
