Compressor no longer cycled S70 1998

I am attempting to recharge my system, however, when checking my pressure, the needle goes from green, then the a/c system "clicks" then the needle goes to yellow, then click again back to green... is this normal? My symptoms were that the a/c would run cool for a while, then it would stop blowing cold air.
Any information is appreciated.
