I'm not sure about the GLT but on my 850 Turbo the exhaust piping is 2.25" and is stainless steel, all except the square exhaust tip. The tip should be connected to the piping with a screw underneath. So, if it's rusting you can just replace the tip and not have to worry about the entire catback exhaust.
