....must be the New Moon arriving on Saturday!
I have a '98 T5 5-speed and most (but not all) the electrical gremlins were exorcised under the original warranty. My extended warranty was a definite loser, except that my dealer was sufficiently disturbed that my evaporator failed immediately after the warranty expired that they fixed it, gratis. I'm now at 109k plus, the car is still a lot of fun to drive but, really, the maintainance hassles probably aren't worth it to most people.
The V90 was the same car as the 960 with the much-feared inline 6. I'd avoid it. Others will have other opinions. The 1994 and 1995 940 Turbos are cars that exhibit the legendary Volvo GOODNESS and can actually be diagnosed and fixed.
To answer your question directly and literally, "Yes, a Subaru wagon, the newest and nicest one you can afford..."
