EFT (?) Sensor for Temp Gauge S70 1998

My check engine light was on. It registered my temp sensor was bad. Dealer replaced sensor and thermostat for $225. Was this reasonable? They said to replace thermostat at the same time because it is only a $20 part and while they were doing the labor for the sensor it was a good idea. I have a little over 88,000 miles on my 1998 S70 T5M.
