I had the same problem with my '98 GLT. I was so pissed that my local dealer (Chris Volvo Atlanta) quoted me a three hour labor job. I went to my local mechanic who charged me $416 for the part a one hour labor. I suggest everyone with this problem write a complaint letter to Volvo NA. This is bullshit, the ABS is a critical safety component of the car and they have failed to correct this problem. The Volvo brand stands for safety and they should stand behind their product. I wrote to the following people with my ABS control module problem asking for a refund for the part and have received a return call from the office of the president. I'll keep everyone posted on the outcome.
