Thank you for the info.
I am dropping the car to the dealer later today to do the procedure. The good part is that is free, VCNA is paying for it. The bad part is that the procedure can take up to 2 days. Also here in GA you have to have your car inspected every year. Is that means that I have to drop the car every year to the dealer for 2 days in order to pass the emission test?
According the EPA document (EPA420-R-01-015 June 2001), the 1996 to 1998 Volvo car are having this problem. Volvo has a TSB addressing this issue (Bulletin #SB 2-23-0056). I hope they will be able to resolved this issue (EPA vs VCNA) before my next year test. Or as mentionned in the EPA document, one solution is to put the car with this problem on the dynamometer test. I was not offer that option at the test station. I think my car will have pass it without any problem.
Thnak you
