Wiper problems 850 1996

I justed stepped outside and check on mine... I put the wiper in the upright position and shut off the car. The wiper was about 1" above the glass... I then softly and slow applied pressure to the aluminum base of the wiper assembly and it slowly returned to the glass surface.

How long will it last? At least it works for now... The bumper stop solution from earlier in this post looks feasible...
