Shampoo fears ! 850 1997

Excellent post and info kshaw. Do you know if there is any more "background" info that generated this Lesson Learned? It does appear that they used the term corrosive meaning caustic (unless hydrogen embrittlement is truly taking place, then it would indicate corrosion), but that's neither here nor there.

I ask about the background wondering if they were using full strength, or at what dilutions. Well done on the info though. Very interesting indeed. Hydrogen embrittlement is indicative of excess atomic hydrogen and as Simple Green has a pH of 9.5 (concentrate) it should have less free hydrogen than water (pH 7).

Off to the net for further research is me. I mean there it was in black and white and I quite arguing with the Army 3 years after I enlisted :)

As an aside to everyone, I went to the database, and there is a lot of GOOD info there about safety Lesson's Learned in general. OK, sure I don't do a lot with 120mm mortars, and haven't made a lot of parachute landings lately, but I have worked with nail guns and oxy/act torches recently. All the Lesson's Learned are at http://safety.army.mil/pages/lessonslearned/

Again kshaw, thanks for the info.
