Goodbye S70

Yannis,

WHAT ? ... BMW blowin' engines ! ... And TWENTY-SEVEN of them ! ... Man, the BMW's from that dealership really have serious problems. My uncle has a '00 X5 4.4i, '01 330Xi, a '00 323i, and an used '01 M5 - all with the original engine underneath the hood. The Dean at my college, which I know very well, took delivery of his brand new M3 a few months ago and doesn't have complains about the powerful 300HP+ engine blowing out of his hood. His wife drives a relatively new ( not sure what year ) BMW M roadster. He also brought an used BMW X5 3.0i for weekend use. One of my Dad's friends is a service manager for a local BMW dealership and he hasn't heard of any engine blowing. Hmmm ... I am flying off to Germany next week for a 2-wks vacation with my girlfriend. Maybe I should pay a visit to BMW HQ and asked them whether they heard about BMW engine blowing or/ whether you are trying to " blind " us away from ALL cars, except for Volvo.

Honestly, I don't blame Robert for not buying another Volvo after the problems I have encountered ever since I got my '98 S70 back in May of 1997. This is why I didn't wait for the XC90 when I wanted a SUV; instead I brought a Nissan.
Honestly, I am also waiting for the perfect opportunity to get rid of my 1998 Volvo S70 and the replacement for it will most likely be a Bimmer ... probably the 320i or 325i. Look at this way ... If someone offered me a brand new Nissan Altima for my 1998 Volvo S70, I would take it within split of a second.

We all know that you work for a Volvo dealership, so it is very natural of people to support the products they sell. Hey, I am in marketing. If you don't tell people to buy back your product, you could lost your job !, so you tried telling the customers all the good things, but leaves out the bad things.
I don't ! ... I tell the customers at my parents' company the good and the bad things about the particular product. Whether they buy it or not is their own decision.

Don't get me wrong ! ... I like my Volvo very much !, but definitely won't buy another one unless they improves many major items such as their quality, their engine, their value-for-the-$$ factor in terms of their std features, etc ...

I was monitoring this post and knew you would reply to this post ... Guess I was right !
