alternator problem? 850

I would have the battery tested if you're sure the connections are good. 13.89v under high load seems to tell me that the alternator is making plenty of juice. Turn the car off and measure the voltage under a high load (high beam on, fan blower at max, radio on, etc.) and see where it is - I bet it'll be lower than 13.89V; more like under 12V.
