Even if you think that they were wrong originally, your idea to "rub it in their faces" is generally a bad idea IMHO, being a tech myself. You might need their help again someday and if they remember you with an "attitude", they can and probably will adjust their prices (just for you) accordingly. Yes, they can do that.
