This one does not have to travel that far. It is actually kind of a pain to try and fit it to go under the bumber with all the wires and gizmos in the way, I would also worry about water, etc.. in high puddles.
The tubing is the kind used for laundry dryers, meaning it can take the heat of the engine and not melt like a plastic could. The tubing is fitted onto the existing plastic pipe that comes out of the airbox and is fitted on tightly with no air leaks with a metal tape.
The tubing is then gently pressed down and shimmyed between the plastic piece above the radiator and the piece below where the hood goes onto.
You're only removing a couple of the stock plastic pieces and lengthening your current pipe so it will reach right behind the grille and receive more air.
You may have seen things like this in Jap cars that have a missing headlight in the front, except that is illegal. This uses the same idea.
I am going to work on refining it a bit more and improving it. There is always room for improvement. Give me some time and I will work on it to improve it even more than what I currently have without chancing water getting into the engine.
I have thought of some new ways to test the airflow and air dynamics of it. I'll being this weekend.
