I don't claim to be an expert at this by any stretch of the imagination, but I just replaced a door panel on my wife's S70 with a used panel from a wrecked S70 (door panel fabric was "un-gluing"). When I took the old door panel off (you need a torx driver to do this) I didn't see how to pop the switch out and ended up using the power window switch and door lock switch that came in the "new" door panel I was installing.

I simply disconnected the wiring from the backside of the old panel and plugged it in to the new panel. All the electrical componets were exposed when I did this.

Please wait and see if you get a post explaining an easier way to do this before attempting my method.

To take the door panel off follow these steps:

1) Pop off the black plastic "triangle" on the front inside corner of the window. It should come off by gently pulling with your hand.

2) Pull out the little square cover at the handle "cup" to expose the torx screw and remove the torx screw.

3) Now the hard part: You need to remove the plastic part behind the chrome door handle. If I remember correctly there are four plastic tabs that hold it in place. There is no easy way to do this and I broke one of the plastic tabs. You need to pull the handle out (as if you are opening the door) to remove it

4) Find a plastic putty knife and GENTLY pry the door panel away from the door. This takes a little work and you will probably break some of the plastic connectors that hold the door panel to the door itself.

5) Once you have the panel loose from the door pull it upward to remove in from the channel the top of the door panel rests in (beside the window).

5) Disconnect the electrical connection on the underside of the switch plate and the componets will be exposed for cleaning.
