Wiper linkage broken

The wiper arm has a nut (13mm) that holds the wiper arm to a spline, check to see if the nut is tighten. The wiper arm where it connects to the spline is a soft metal and by tightening the nut, presses the arm into the splines. If you haven't worn out the wiper arm, you can try taking the arm off and with a small pick clean out the metal in the splines and then try putting the arm back on. With the wiper arm off turn on the wipers and if the spline rotates, your linkage is fine, if not then you are correct the the linkage has a problem. To access the linkage and the motor remove the cowel and everyting is under there.
