replying to my own post....creaking in the headliner has stopped!!!! S40-V40 2000

I have a 1998 V40 that does this. It only does it in the morning when there is ice or frost on the roof. My car has a sunroof, and I am pretty sure it's the hardened, frozen rubber seal that's creaking. Maybe it's the same for our top windshield seal. Once the sun comes up the problem goes away. This I can live with.
