Another 850 owner/brickboard commentator, Erlend Hagen, recently wrote a detailed account of how he got the foglights in his 850 to come on. (He used aftermarket lights, but he used the OE wiring, switch and relay.) He needed to connect a jumper (already in place but not plugged in) to a three-slot receptacle in the relay bay. They are marked for US/CAN (foglights run when headlights are on), EU (foglights run when parking lamps are on, and J (Japanes, foglights run only when high beams are on, odd). His account provides instructions on how to get this done. This should be archived around October.

Also in the archives you should find instructions from n0v8or on how to use the OE switch but bypass the OE relay so you can have independent use of foglights. It has a pdf wiring diagram. (I have a copy of the diagram and instructions, if you need it.)
