Just an added thought on this subject.
I looked at an '08 just the other day at a large car warehouse adjacent to Teterboro Airport. Fancy cars are what they want to sell (BMWs, MB, higher end sedans etc.) but some trade-ins from older, arguably nicer cars are to be found there.
There was an '02 XC-70 there as well.
I had to pull several times to get the '08's hood to release. The access to repair / replace a busted hood release cable is a lot if the hood's closed. I've read that lubing this cable is smart to do. Doubtless the example I saw, with 145K, needed this maintenance.
Maybe lube yours while you're dealing with this.
