On the bright side, I rather like how all those screens suddenly dim right about that time in the evening that I'd want them dimmed. Like the auto-sensing windshield wipers, one less thing I have to think about while I drive. Beats driving like a pleb in my Honda, reaching through the steering wheel to brighten the cluster during a particularly sunny day, then dimming again when it gets dark. And don't get me started about having to turn the headlights on and off every time I get in the car...
My point is that while yes, sometimes these newfangled cars do too much thinking for us and it can be annoying to not be in control - especially when they do things we don't want them to - sometimes it's best to appreciate the functionality and just sit back and enjoy the drive.
