If you don't use recirc and it's really wet/humid outdoors, then you will continue to introduce more and more moist air into the cabin that the defrost (with A/C) has to try to dry out which could be a losing battle. If recirc is ON then the defrost with A/C will make the interior air drier and drier the longer it runs. At least that's what I've experienced.
