Maybe the 2001+ V70’s are different, but the early V70’s, 850’s and S60’s have a rubber lip incorporated into the mount that locks into the body. When the rubber wears out the mount will move and cause rattles etc... Hey, IMHO, if you are already in there you might as well replace the mount too as they are relatively cheap.

On my 850 it was the mounts that wore out before the shocks.
