2004 V70 Radiator Replacement Interval V70-XC70 2004

The clamp and the hose must be positioned exactly where it was before removal. If you are off by 1/8 inch, the plastic tube from the radiator will have to form a new 'groove' caused by the initial clamp placement.

Correct about over tightening the clamp. I grab the hose and try to twist it. If it moves even less than a mm, then tighten it a bit more until the hose is really snug. Use a screwdriver to tighten the clamp, a socket wrench can easily lead to over tightening.
