Klaus,
The pictures and description is “dead on” in terms of what my rear brakes look like. I’m going to print the instructions and save them for future reference, they are that good. I have two 850 wagons, and they get used a lot more than my ’99 XC. So I find myself doing brake jobs on enough of a regular basis, that I “Don’t forget” how to take them apart. That’s not true with ’99 XC. I might go a couple of years before I have to replace them, and then I look at the rear brakes and wonder: “How did I take these things apart the last time?”
My good friend and mechanic said you never want to have a car come into your garage and then find you can’t drive it out. Not good for business, and for me a DIY’er it is very embarrassing. The last thing I want to do is call AAA to have my Volvo towed down to my garage because I “dropped the ball”. I have some sense of shame, very little though, but some.
Thank you Klaus.
Hugh
