Thanks. I replaced the clutch on our 940, single-handed, twice in one day when the first replacement had a defective clutch flywheel/spring assembly. Four hands would have been nice but son was too young. Now he's not!
Really need to determine if this is the route to go. The engine is strong but blowing a little smoke on startup and the water pump is next in line for R/R. It's seeping and is also the suspected source of the squealing howl on startup. I've lubed the serp belt tensioners, repacked their bearings, it's not the alternator or PS pump. With the Timing belt cover off and hose to ear, the noise is strongest near the pump and there is coolant pooling beneath the pulley. It's time.
But, if I'm starting to burn oil, it's time for another lower-mileage car to move all the new parts to. Starter, radiator, full suspension, fuel pump, hitch, battery, etc, then donate the tired old gal to a non-profit for tax credit.
