Don't know if it's been mentioned, I haven't read the complete thread but one of the main differences between the 940t and the 850/v70's is red block vs. white block. The white is an aluminum block and an interference engine. On the aluminum block you don't save money by buying cheap antifreeze. It must be top grade and compatible with aluminum blocks. I use strictly Volvo coolant. The other difference is the interference engine. Break a timing belt on the red block and you coast to a stop. It's a simple change of a timing belt. Break a timing belt or seize a tensioner on the 850/V70/960/V90 and you've bent a bunch of valves and you're into a $2000-$3000 repair. You must change the timing belt and tensioners at the proper mileage or age.
