Don't know if this will help, but it's a start:
Make sure the glow plugs are getting voltage when the key is turned to ON, or Start, or whichever position applies voltage to them. This is easily done with a 12-volt test light or DC Voltmeter. If you have no voltage the relay supplying the voltage to the glow plugs is the next suspect. If you do have voltage, check each glow plug with an ohm-meter to be sure you don't have an open (infinite resistance) in one of them. (I had a MBZ that had several fail at once.) If the electrical checks out it is possible to have an air leak in the fuel system or no fuel getting to the cylinders.
