So today I took off my steel rims/Nokian Hakka Q's. I was feeling a nice vibration at 75mph+, so I thought a rim might be bent or a balance weight thrown. Nope... I discovered a 1/8-1/4 inch deep layer of sand inside the rims!!! It was almost like cement and there was a whole lot of it on all the rims. This probably built up over the whole winter since my steel rims don't have much for holes to clean through. Now that I know this can happen it's nothing a quick power washer can't take care of, just be careful not to jet water into those drive shaft boots.
