Most of the heater core bugs have been worked out by 2004, but that is still something to look at. Check the carpet by the gas pedal for stickyness, which would be coolant.

Pulling the spark plugs and shining a small flashlight down on the piston will show a leak - IF the cylinder looks shiney and new. Then you will need a costly head gasket.
