Re: Noise when torque converter locks/unlocks V70-XC70 1998

THis is amazing, I am so glad I found you guys! I just posted on the wearing out of tires(2) and being told all 4 must be replaced together always! But I began complaining about a stutter between 55 and 65 during a long drive about 2 months after we bought the car (99) and no one would believe me. I am now at 27,000 miles and I am still complaining about this "stutter". I made the dealer service manager ride in the car with me and he said it was normal and that what I was feeling was the automatic shifting, it was sort of "deciding" what gear to be in. I have owned Volvos all my life and have never had one "decide" in this manner. I hate it and it makes long drives irritating to say the least! I am printing out your comments and handing them to the dealer today as my car is in for it's 30,000 mile service and I will show him I am not imagining this! So now I have to look for a discussion on the driver's seat rocking-makes acceleration a thrill yet I prefer my rocking chair on the front porch.
