As a Matter of Course - Should You Replace the Water Pump whenever the Timing Belt is Replaced? 850 1995

The timing belt on a 1995 850 needs to be replaced every 70,000 miles.

The job is fairly involved and exposes the water pump in the process (correct?).

How long do Volvo water pumps last? My experience with most cars is that water pumps last less than 100,000 miles.

If this is also the case with Volvos, seems like the water pump should be replaced as "a matter of course" when replacing the timing belt.

Of course- assuming you plan on keeping the car....

Any thoughts on this matter?
