My profile hasn't changed in years.
If you want to cut an splice, that is up to you. I prefer to plug and play, that way the two white wires are going to the proper plugs. And not all O2 sensors are created equal, some of the cheaper models will only last a year or so.
The reason for the premium gasoline is twofold. It contains cleaners that keep the injectors clean. It also prevents detonation which is picked up by the knock sensors long before you can hear it. The activated knock sensors will enrich the mixture and retard the timing, fouling the plugs and O2 sensors as well as reduce the MPG.
