A friend has a 1998 V70 that will not start. The car was running fine, he left it parked for 10 days and it now will not start.
The engine rolls over quickly, and sounds like one cyl. may attempt to fire, but it isn't close to sounding like it might start.
There is fuel (one can smell it and hear the pump running); there is spark at the plugs.
Any ideas what he might check next??
On my older 240 I experienced a similar situation and (if I recall correctly) it was determined to be a sensor that synchronized the flywheel annd timing(???)
Would his 5 cyl. engine have such a sensor.
Thanks
