So why are there so many SUV owners that have small families, or no trailers to tow, or no plans of off roading? Must be for performance, like the tight turning circle and precise cornering. Or is it for the 10 second 0-60 times? Or for the great gas mileage? Nope, it's for the look.

And you're wrong about why "they" drive around in small displacement cars. The other response to your post explains it.
