Hello All,
Although I have two '96 850 wagons, my question has to do with my '99 XC. My hope is by posting it here, some one might have the answer I'm to the above question.
For several months, I've had difficulty starting my '99 XC. My independent mechanic tells me the problem is due to the fact that the check valve built into the fuel pump is no longer working. Specifically, this valve is supposed to close when you turn off the engine, thereby maintaining pressure in the fuel line, so when you turn the key, the engine will start immediately.
To avoid the cost of replacing the fuel pump, he has recommended I find an in-line check valve to install (he doesn't have one, nor has access to one). The fuel line has an inside diameter of 6mm and an outside diameter of 8mm.
Can any one tell me where I could purchase an in-line check valve, preferably made out of metal and not plastic that I could install in the fuel line of my '99 XC (which is a turbo)?
Thanks to all who reply.
Hugh
