Replacing an intercooler a do-it-yourself job? V70-XC70 1998

So I found the problem with the loss of power in my '98 v70 awd: I hit, w/the center of my undercarriage, a chunk of wheel well ice that came off the car in front of me and almost immediately noticed a drop in performance. After some searching, found a foot-long crack in the plastic at the bottom of the intercooler. Did a temporary patch with epoxy which seems to have done the trick, but I don't expect it to hold forever. My question is whether or not replacing the intercooler is a job that I should tackle (I have done my own brakes, oil changes, basic maintenance, and a few additional things). Also, any ideas on a parts source for this?
