Re: Reflection/Accelerator Questions S80 2000

As an S80 T6 owner for some 5 months now I agree with abe.

Yes, there's reflection of the dash in the windscreen but is really only a distraction if you stare and focus on it. Once you start 'driving', the reflections become invisible until you happen to focus on them again momentarily. I wouldn't consider this a strong negative for the S80. I suspect the dash is less reflective (such as a dark colour rather than say Taupe) if the interior colour is dark.

If you want to get down to fine detail you might want to see if you can see the instrument digital display readouts when you have the sun shining directly onto the instrument cluster pod behind the steering wheel.

In general, the RPMs should settle to around 650 rpm (hot engine) whenever there's zero accelerator input. Beyond this I can't comment on what is good or bad about the tach needle not dropping quickly.

The extra for the S80 T6 over the S80 2.9 is well worth it IMHO -- a truly wonderful car in many many respects.

Good luck with your final choice, be it S80 or V70.

Regards... Barry Sharp
