I dunno about going to a K&N filter. There has been quite a number of posts on this subject on the BB. My personal opinion is that if you can see through the filtering material (as opposed to a OEM filter) you are not getting as much "filtering action" as you should be getting. Several posters have said that they noticed no difference in performance with the K&N installed over the standard filter. About the only obvious advantage is the long life without frequent replacements (albeit the initial cost is rather high).
