Broken Power Driver Seat 850 1993

I have a 1993 850 GLT with a power driver seat. I have never had a problem with the power seat, and I don't recall anything that would have damaged the seat. The right side of the seat back still seems to be working fine, but the left side won't tilt forward or back. The hinge of the seat seems to be okay.

Are there separate motors for the left and right side of the back adjustment, such that this could be due to a failed motor or wiring problem? Does anyone know if the Chilton (or other) manual describes the internal components of the power drive seat? Thanks for your help.
