1997 R engine replaced by 98 GLT engine. Good idea or bad?

Well... Showed me...LOL. I DEFINITELY want it to remain an R...so off to the rebuild shop the head goes. I have looked on the parts sites and most of the valves available are all the same for the car. Is there something special I should look for? Excuse my ignorance, but I'm finding that this is a very special car...
