there's another side to it (above what derspi just posted) - if you've boosted your car above stock 0.7 bar, running your turbo on full boost using stock pancake exos may heat it up to an extent that it causes the plugs to overheat n misfire. in the long run there may be a risk of shortening some engine component's life due to excessive heat. the first to go obviously will be your cat.

btw agree with derspi's comments on expensive catbacks - if you can get a good custom-fab one, don't bother with the "named" pipes.
