Model Clarification Requested V70-XC70

Just checking unanswered posts...

The 2.3L engine was the original size for the 5 cyl. The addition of a high pressure turbo to the 2.3L was a great boost in bhp. The 2.4L and 2.5L came later and was avail with low pressure turbo and high pressure turbo as well as NA.
All of the 5 cyl engines are a great design for longevity. The turbo adds power but doesn't detract from maintenance. It just depends on how much fun you want to have.
Fairly easy to work on if you have small hands, a little tighter than the 240 with a 4 banger.

Make sure the wagon you are looking at already has the 3rd seat and booster seats. Retrofitting is almost impossible.

Try to stay away from Volvos between 1999-2002. Those were electronic problem children and dealer only fixes. The newer you can afford, the better.

As always, get an inspection done before you buy. And don't bother the people at Torchlight motors or other "auction" car resellers. Private party is best, if you can find one.
