The color and some stickers/embloms applied in various places. Most of the availble options were included as standard, hence the higher price. Volvo had to do something to try and make some money off their sponsorship of a boat race.

I saw one the other day and expected the driver to have a gold chain around their neck with some preposterous pendant hanging from it. There is always a certain pecentage of the auto buying market that responds to things like Toyota's "gold package." That's my take on the car. If you buy one used at least you can have the excuse of a used car price to justify the purchase. Maybe the dealer will through in a gold chain?

Tongue in cheek above, no offense intended, but seriously I loved my 850 as well and found nothing close in Volvo's current offering. My 07-V70 is a nice car, but in terms of ride/handling/performance it is the best Buick Volvo ever made.
