Someone on Volvospeed has a side business "fixing" the door switches. So I guess that the box can be pried apart. Beware of very tiny springs and bearings falling out and not knowing where they go.
Usually it is just crud buildup that disables the switch. I only took my 780 switches apart, and they were a pain to get back together. If you attempt to take it apart, make sure the window is closed first!!
