PCV HELP!!! 850

Those compression numbers are not very bad. A better test is a leakdown pressure test. You can get a leakdown test kit from Harbor Freight for 30 or $40. This will help you truely test the wear on your engine. Not only determine ring problems, but valve problems too (valve guides).

If it were me, I would buy a can of SeaFoam, get the engine good and hot and then pull a vacuum hose and suck in 1/2 the can and shut it down for 10 minutes. Then start and watch the smoke fly...then change the oil. Sea foam does wonders for cleaning PCV, intake, etc. It has solved many a headscratcher for me when it comes to PCV systems...plus it is cheap and doesn't hurt anything (has helped lot though).

if that didn't work, then I would proceed with the leakdown test.
