My new addition & Window Trim 850 1995

Had this problem on my wagon, used a razor blade and fine sand paper to remove the vinyl coating (don't remove the rubber seal on the one side though)Then I painted it with pimer and a flexible matt black trim paint. Within a month of winter driving white spots from the aluminum corroding showed through the paint, it ended up looking really bad. To get me through this winter I quickly resanded the corroded areas and repainted the strips with a paint I got at Home depot called Liquid Plastic by Verathane. I used the entire can on the two strips, laying down multiple thin coats. They came out looking fantastic and have lasted all winter without so much as a blemish. Incidentally the strips come off really easily, carefully pop the plastic caps off at the rear of the car and work the strips up out of their spring clips (just make sure you dont bend the strips)Then just pop them back into their groove once the paint is fully dry. Good Luck!!
