Don't use aftermarket pads with Volvo rotors, problems will be constant. The OEM pads are good, except for all the brake dust. Drilled or slotted rotors allow gas from the pads to vent,which improves response under heavy breaking.

Personally, I am stunned by how many miles (going on 40K) I am getting with Brembo drilled rotors and MetalMaster pads. Great breaking and no squeeks.
