Greg, the turbo is water and oil cooled.
You probably won't see any gains from cleaning a throttle body that was not dirty to begin with.
In regards to the metal lines, I would have to see a picture to be absolutely sure. If they were close enough to your CV boot to cause you concern you probably did the right thing. Seems there is an oil return line down there, or could be brake fluid lines from the master cylinder. Either way, seems there's a brace that they go under and are mounted up under the car so shouldn't be dangling anyway.
