Rough running & flashing Check Engine light V70-XC70 1999

A single cylinder misfire suggests checking ignition first, then for vac. leaks. MAF sensor would not be my first place to look at all.

Some recent model Volvos have strange problems associated with the ETM. I don't know if this applies to your V70 or not.

I believe that Volvo finally caved to pressure and extended the warranty on the ETMs. Volvo's horrible handling of this situation is one of the reasons I buy Honda products now.
