Fuel filter replacement tips S70 1998

Dave, thanks. I will be changing it in the next few days. I was replacing the brake fluid and noticed my rear rotors having funny wear patterns. Turns out the retainer clips broke and the outer pads were not making full contact with the rotors and the rotors started to get grooves of rusty material. I called the stealer for the hardware kit containing the retainter pins and clips for both rear wheels and they quoted me $26. I ordered from FCP Groton for $5.95 + shipping, which is still cheaper and am waiting for the stuff to arrive. When examining the right side rear rotor I noticed the fuel filter and remembered that it was the last remaining item of my 60K service that I performed in stages. I already have filter, just never got around to installing it. So, when I am replacing the brake hardware I'll do the filter. I also ordered some 940 parts for my wife's car and will probably work on that as well as we have a long trip coming up and I usually take the 940 on those as it is a wagon and is much more suitable for a road trip with two kids. I need to change the timing belt and replace the air filter, etc. on the 940, so some fun is in store for me.

Also, if you remember my iPod hack for the CD changer, well, my wife's CD changer, which incidently was exactly the Alpine unit I had in my S70 died and instead of buying a replacement CD changer for her, I bought a refurbished 20GB iPod (Apple sells refurbed iPods for a good price) for my car and put the CD changer from the S70 into the 940. Then I bought an adapter (forget the name at the moment) that plugs into the Volvo head unit on the S70 instead of the changer and provides two aux inputs via RCA jacks. A really nice setup and the sound quality is better than with my CD changer hack. Probably due to better impedance matching. The iPod always sounded a bit low through my hack, but sounds nice and loud and clear through this little box. It shows up as a changer and you select disk 6 and there is you aux input. I probably should post this as a separate thread.
